This is how the the "re-shipper" scam works:

A person will be contacted via email or may apply for what they believe is a part-time job.  The job will entail the following:

  • Packages will be shipped to the person's address via UPS, FedEx, etc.  The items shipped will have been purchased by illegal/fraudulent means.
  • The person will be contacted and will be given instructions on where to forward the package (Note that a special license is required to mail a computer outside the U.S.)
  • After the person ships the package, they will be paid a fee via Western Union, MoneyGram, Bank wire transfer or Paypal transfer. (Note that the payment will be from a compromised account)

Our latest “re-shipper” saw an add on Craigslist and responded.
