As Hoover Police data indicate, there has been an 18% increase in the reported incidents of shoplifting in 2006 over the number of shoplifting incidents that were reported to police in 2005.

The Hoover Police Department recently received a new mobile command bus that was purchased for $489,000 from LDV Inc. of Burlington, WI. The department also received a police transport vehicle from this company costing $260,000. Both of these vehicles were paid for with money and assets seized by Hoover officers utilizing federal forfeiture statutes usually pertaining to illegal drug activity.
