INTERSTATE CRIMINAL ENFORCEMENT, Hoover Police Department

The Interstate Criminal Enforcement Unit (I.C.E.) consists of one Sergeant and three officers. All members of this unit have had extensive training and experience in patrol techniques, narcotics interdiction, and criminal apprehension. Three of the unit members are Department of Transportation certified for inspections of Commercial Vehicles. Two of the members are K-9 Certified and have K-9 partners when patrolling area interstates. Two of the members are certified instructors in Interdiction and have taught nationwide.
The I.C.E. unit’s primary area of operation is Interstate 65 and Interstate 459 which run through the City of Hoover. The unit focuses on traffic safety laws, Department of Transportation Inspections, Public assist ie: stranded or broken down motorist, and removal of debris from the roadway while also performing a criminal apprehension function. The unit also works with other City agencies as well as County, State and Federal agencies.
